WHEN AND WHERE WE RACE
Every Saturday from 10 AM till 1 PM between early April and late November you'll find us racing at Conservatory Water just inside Central Park at Fifth Avenue between 72nd and 76th Streets. Come join us for a sail!
WHAT WE RACE
We primarily race the International One Meter, or IOM, the fastest-growing radio control class in the world. This class is distinct and different in purpose from the US One Meter and the One Design One-Meter (ODOM) classes and complements the International Marblehead Class as a simpler, less expensive boat. The International class has a one-design rig, minimum keel and overall weights, and restrictions on hull materials. The net effect of these differences is that the typical cost-spiral of lighter weight, more expensive materials and costlier manufacturing processes is arrested. This allows amateurs to design and build with little concern that they’re dealing with a weight disadvantage. This is a feature not found in any existing AMYA class and is the primary reason the class is so popular. If you're thinking of buying one, contact us for info or leads on brand new and good second-hand boats.
