Building and sailing one's own boat is where model yachting all began. Luckily, it's a craft that hasn't totally disappeared. Stop by Kerbs Boathouse and you'll find many fine examples of boats that were hand-crafted by CPMYC members, some of wood, others of high-tech materials like fiberglass. If you're a builder, or would like to give it a shot, we're happy to share tips and resources, and help point you in the right direction.
Or if you're interested in classes on building a Vintage Marblehead class pond sailboat, some members have taken courses at the Wooden Boat School in Brooklin, Maine. Those classes are now taught by CPMYC Commodore Bruce Richter. This is cool - watch a hull get built at WBS in four minutes.
